Human Resource Generalist
 

Our client in Guelph has partnered with Kelly Services to recruit for a Human Resources Generalist to implement a variety of human resource programs. This is a temporary position. The HR department will depend on your assistance in several important functions such as recruiting, compensation and benefits, labour law, and training and development.

The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate the Workforce Planning Process including strategic human capital planning, succession planning and identify developmental planning needs
  • Monitor the changing regulatory environment, developing recommendations to the business to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Assess alignment of HR processes with departmental strategic goals and provides feedback to managers in developing and implementing solutions
  • Collaborate with the managing team to drive HR solutions (such as process improvement), as well as participate in other broad scale HR projects and initiatives
  • Collaborate with Employee/Labour Relations and Organizational Development to execute and implement large scale HR initiatives (i.e., roll out annual programs, new programs/policies, etc.)
  • Identify key success indicators and recommend the creation and collection of specific data to develop baseline measurements to monitor and evaluate the success of departmental specific HR programs and initiatives
  • Advise on job evaluation and pay equity implications with respect to organizational changes
  • Collaborate with the Recruitment team members to provide staffing support to the business

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree/Diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or other related discipline
  • CHRP Designation or in progress
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience providing support to clients on strategic HR initiatives
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation as it applies to organizational change, employee development, labour relations and performance management
  • Working knowledge of various applicable legislation including Employment Standards Act; Ontario Human Rights Code as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Experience designing and developing HR programs to meet changing organizational needs
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
